Intern UI/UX Designer — 2 Positions
Job Overview
MarkupMarvel is opening 2 UI/UX Designer Intern positions for people who’ve studied design principles and tools like Figma but haven’t yet designed for a real, live client project. This 6-month unpaid internship gives you genuine hands-on experience — designing actual interfaces that get built and shipped to real US/UK clients, not portfolio-only exercises.
What You’ll Do
- Design UI screens and components in Figma for real client projects
- Learn how to translate business requirements into user-friendly interface designs
- Practice building consistent design systems and component libraries
- Receive direct feedback from senior designers and developers on your work
- Support usability reviews and design iteration based on real project needs
- Build a genuine, shipped-work portfolio by the end of the internship
Requirement
- Completed a UI/UX design course or self-taught fundamentals in Figma
- Basic understanding of design principles — spacing, hierarchy, colour, typography
- A portfolio of coursework or personal design projects, even if unpolished
- Willingness to take feedback and iterate on real project work
- Genuine interest in UI/UX design as a career path
Nice to Have
- Basic understanding of how designs get handed off to developers
- Familiarity with design systems or component libraries
- Basic HTML/CSS understanding to communicate feasibility with developers
What We Offer
- 6 months of real design experience on live client projects
- Direct mentorship from senior designers and developers
- A genuine portfolio of shipped, real-world design work
- Opportunity for paid work, job placement, or recommendation to partner companies after completion
- Certificate of completion and LinkedIn recommendation
- Possibility to continue with MarkupMarvel on a project or partnership basis after the internship
